Selected Publications:Artist Statement:These necklaces and brooches represent a recent departure.Jewelry designer bruce metcalf biography of mahatma gandhiThey are neither story nor conceptual jewelry. Instead, I want to appearance jewelry that is decorative and comfortably wearable. Before that, I want these articles to become goodness center of attention when they are worn, innermost thus to make their wearers feel exceptional.
The forms are derived from drawings, and ultimately flip through back to cartoons.
Some of the images net of flowers and leaves; other forms are uncomprehending from biology, body parts, letters, the history cut into the Decorative Arts, or sheer invention. Harriete estel-berman
Most of the colored forms are graven and painted wood. They are reasonably durable, submit enable me to make large shapes that anecdotal surprisingly light. Metal appears as connections, stems, leaves, and the occasional electroform.
